Flycatcher Lagarja Camp
Ndutu Area in Ngorongoro Conservation Area
According to the season our camps in Ngorongoro Conservation Area and bordering Serengeti National Park are placed where you are as close as possible to the impressive big herds of the wildebeest and zebras. Although the exact location of the migration cannot be predicted, you can always be certain to come across many other animals on interesting game drives.
From December to May, depending on the rains, the large herds are concentrated on the low-lying grass plains between Olduvai, Gol Mountains, Naabi Hill and Ndutu. Interesting areas for game drives are the lakes, the swamps, Miti Mitatu, Kili Matiti, the Makao Plains or the Kakesio Plains. The chances are high to see predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyaenas. In the right season Ndutu is a true animal paradise!
Season
Flycatcher Lagarja Camp is open from end of December to March.
Location
The camp is situated between the Big Marsh and Lake Ndutu.

GPS coordinates: 2°58'49.0"S 34°56'38.0"E
Game drives
From the camp, varied and interesting game drives are possible in various directions. The endless short grass plains surrounding Lake Ndutu and the acacia woodland around the lake itself are - at the right time of year - hard to beat in terms of animal diversity. At Ndutu you have a very good chance of seeing the «great migration» (herds of hoofed animals with 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras). In February, the wildebeest give birth to their calves within two to three weeks. Ndutu is also a very good place to spot cheetahs.
